Today was the concert at church--we performed Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols," which was well-recieved by the crowd, at any rate. I feel we did okay, and Mike didn't yell at us, so I guess we didn't screwup too badly.

Tomorrow starts three days of working at Mom's school, grading math for second grade. Be a little spending money for Christmas, at any rate.
Well, here's some more.

What's that? The last one didn't have any snowmen, you say? Sorry....
Just go here.

I was told yesterday, after posting those pictures, that my mother has a lot of snowmen. Well... yes, she does.

So I'm a sucker for carniverous rabbits. See the strip.

Still haven't figured out how to attach pictures. Hope to by next update.

I refuse to apologize for having such a long time between entries.

I'm trying to figure out how to add pictures to an entry. If I manage, the next one will have some shots of the Christmas decorations around here.

Just a short note to say that I'm not dead yet! I'm really not even being threatened by death, which is a nice change of pace. I'm also not being threatened by employment, which is not a nice change of pace and in fact still sucks.

In other news, it looks like (if I'm still unemployed) I'm going to be visiting Wolfeboro in August. News as the time gets closer.

It's been awhile, once again... And no real reason for it, save that I haven't restarted my walks. I'll try to correct both, now that I'm getting into the 'nervous energy' stage of the medicine where I start wandering from room to room. Maybe if I take a walk in the morning (before it gets too hot) I won't feel the need to wander as much....
I love riding lawnmowers. They take what is normally a chore and make it... well, still a chore, but at least a pleasant ride while you do the chore. Now if only they could do something about the pollen...

No walking yet. The Reglan makes me both tired and sleepy, and while I'm starting to get over that, it's still had me shagged out enough that I haven't picked that up yet. Yes, I know. I will. Really. Maybe today, though after mowing the yard I wouldn't count on it.
Well, yes, it's been awhile since my last update, which I thought would be daily. Sorry to keep you sitting on the edge of your seat, but I did have good reason.

You see, I've been sick for... well, several months. The last bad bout put me in the hospital for two seperate weeks and led to my moving back to Austin. I've been reasonably fine since then, with the odd bout of throwing up, but a few weeks ago it flared up again and put me right back in the hospital because I couldn't so much as hold down water.

The diagnosis has been made that I have gastroperesis, which essentially means my stomach empties slowly. I'm on a medication that I'll be on for the rest of my life or until they find another one that regulates this condition, whichever comes first.

But for the last week, I've been fine, and I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. Next week I start on the job search again, as well as get back into the walking ever so often. Yes, that did fall by the wayside the last few weeks, which I regret, but I'm looking forward to getting back into that. I need the exercise, and it's a good hour for thinking big thoughts.

Well, as big as I ever think.

Friday: 8092 steps.
Saturday: 9798 steps.
Sunday: 5060 steps.

Not much to say at this point--just wanted to get the totals in before I forgot. Might have more to say after I do some job-hunting.

Yes, I missed a day. And I don't have my counter with me right now, so tomorrow you'll get *three* days worth of steps. Don't you feel lucky now?

Long day, as Easter Sunday always is around here. The service formerly known as the Easter Sunrise Service (now held at 8:30) is earlier than I like to be at church, since it means being up at 6, which, as we all know, is Too Darn Early. Nevermind that my mother's generally up around 5, it's the principle of the thing. After that, we still have the 10:45 service. Not to mention the breakfast inbetween.

After that, lunch with my godmother. She just got back from a trip to Italy, so there were many many pictures to look at over steak and lobster. Neat stuff--I wish I could travel like that.

Then we went to see Blade II. Here's a non-spoiler review: It's bad. Really bad. Excruciatingly bad. But pretty, as far as special effects go, if you like CGI gorefests.

With all of this, is it any wonder I didn't walk today?
3232 steps. Not big, but a fun number.

Today was quiet. Being a holy day and all, everyone here was off from work, though there were errands to run and junk. There was also church tonight, which I missed because I forgot until the last minute that I hadn't gotten the headlight in the car replaced. Sigh. Mom's not going to be happy when she gets home, but what can you do?

I did manage to get a walk in today, at least, despite an achy back.

3190 steps.

Well, today was an exercise in ickyness. Just sick enough to feel bad, not sick enough to justify lounging around all day. I hate those. Still, no walk today, because I'm not a glutton for punishment.

Tonight's the Maundy Thursday service, then Good Friday tomorrow evening, choir practice Saturday and two services on Easter. Yes, it's the week I live at church.

8124 steps.

So, no walk today. Got busy working on a project for my stepmother, then had to meet her in town about said project. Tomorrow's counter will be a small number, just to warn.

What project? Well, long story short, a biography of Archimedes! The last of the great Greek mathematicians! A man so smart, just getting into the bathtub could lead to discovery! Plug his name into your favorite search engine, you'll find a ton of info about him.

Today was the first time I've eaten at Taco Bell in a long time. I got sick from it the last time, but as I was getting sick from almost anything I ate at the time, I discounted that.

I got sick from it today. That's it. No more. Taco Bell, if you're paying attention, you've lost me as a customer. I'm going to be cautious approaching KFC, too, but I probably don't have to worry much there.

And, just to make the day more perfect, I noticed while driving home that one of my headlights is burned out. Tells me what I'll be doing tomorrow during the day....
